letters and personal touch
Prologue:
I had read a story about a US president whose name I cant recall. He had a habit of editing the letters every time it was brought to him after being typewritten by his secretary. Having had enough of this, one day the secretary decided to make sure the letter was all typed, without any additions in ink. However, the president made sure to add something even after the 4th revision. Annoyed, the secretary asked him the reason for this behaviour. The president opined that this gives a personal touch to the letter and gently signed off.
Sentiment:
Today, I got a letter from mom. Wow, an old fashioned snail mail in fastidious hindi. I found it amazing that despite having the convinience of calling or writing an email, someone may like to send a letter in the long hand. I must say that I felt closest to my mom in the last one year while reading the letter. Seems the president was right!
It also brought to memory the life in school where we were made to write one postcard a week by the authorities to make sure we kept in touch of our parents. Most of use used to do a fakibaazi, with large lettering & practiced salutations and endings just to fill up the postcards and escape any punishments. Only now do I realise what it must have meant to parents.

This post is both touching and true. Sometimes we take relationships for granted but forget that even small and simple things can make a big impact !.
True..things we take granted for most is our parents, bec we are sure neither we are goin to lose them nor they are goin to love us less for any reason in the world. I feel bad when I realise how I have taken my parents for granted. On a remorse path now me.
